Illamasqua Bacterium!

Hello, my lovelies! I hope your week is going well. I'm getting ready to take a long weekend off-my first vacation in 8 months! But fear not, I shan't abandon you, there will a post or two!

Today I have Illamasqua's Bacterium. Isn't that's a fun name? It's well known I don't usually wear neutrals, but my friend Dana really loves this one, and I like to know what my friends enjoy! So I picked this up on a recent blog sale for a good price. It's part of their Toxic Nature collection from 2011.

Bacterium is a opalescent taupe color. It's completely out of my comfort range and it took a while to grow on me. Some of my friends like to wear a neutral every now and then as a 'palette cleanser' in between bright colors, and this fits the bill. It's a sophisticated and sleek polish. the formula was beautiful and slid right on. This is three coats, with no top coat. I'm not sure it really flatters me, but it's subtle and calm, and probably a good color for the office.

Illamasqua is currently selling for $19 (yes, it went up!), and can be found in the US at Sephora stores. You can order from the website, but the pricing is in pounds, shipping is ghastly and Royal Mail is cracking down on nail polish shipping out of the country.

How do you like Bacterium? Is it for you?

  3. Wow! I wasn't impressed by the look in the bottle, but it looks great on you. This inspires me to actually try a neutral colour...
