Time for some Lynderella!

Hello, my lovelies!

I hope everyone had a good holiday and some time to relax!
So, today’s pretty!
I have a gorgeous Lynderella glitter to share! Lynderella is an extremely popular indie polish that has been around for a while. She specializes in stunning glitter combinations, and this one is no exception. Lynns, as they’re known by, are probably considered the high end polish of the indie world.

OPI Hot & Spicy!

Hello, my lovelies! After days of heavy rain from Tropical Storm Andrea, we finally have a gorgeous day of sunshine and cool temps. Alas, I am stuck inside, as I’m working today.

I’ve been getting a lot of spam in the comments so I set the comments to be approved before they published. Why don’t people have better things to do with their lives than spam people? It’s very irritating. But I don’t want to put the captcha (word verification) back on, so approval it is.

I was a bad girl this week and purchased the two Dior polishes I’ve been lusting for. I’ve never spent so much on two polishes but I consider my reward for all of the extra hard I’ve been putting in for four months! Of course, there are two more now that I want (Sunnies and Tie &Dye from the summer collection). I might get those next month, when we push past the finish line on this project. We’ll see if I think I’ve deserved it!

I'm baaaaaack!

Hello, my lovelies!

It’s been far, far too long since we last visited. This pesky thing called work swooped in and took over my life the last few months, and unfortunately, the blog fell to the wayside. Most days I didn’t even have time to do my nails and would wear the same polish for 3 or 4 days (the horror!) ;)

But I think, things are easing up now and I hope to at least get once post in a week for now, and back up to 2-3 postings a week by the end of June.  I think I debuted this blog last year on Memorial Day, so my one year blogaversary should be here!

A celebration of red nail polish!

Hello, my lovelies!

I have something new for you today. Recently some friends of mine and I were talking about the red polish, OPI’s Smitten With Mittens (which for some reason, I always want to call it Smitten with Kittens). The conversation then evolved into one about red polish and how there are so many lovely ones. So I told them all to send me a pic or two of their favorite red and I would dedicate a post to red polish. And here it is!

Go Pink Wednesday #5 - Jem pink!

Hello, my lovelies!

Welcome to Go Pink Wednesday #5.  Go Pink Wednesday is when a bunch of bloggers and nail polish fiends wear pink manis to support breast cancer awareness, because October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. You don’t have to be a blogger to join in, though today is our last one so hurry up and join us! You can find more details over at Finger Painting Fingers, who organized this amazing event.

With Hurricane Sandy and the Frankenstorm she created, I pray that all of our fans and fellow nail polish addicts came through the storm as well as we did. It was a horrific storm and I have a feeling it’s going to take us a long time to dig out. My prayers go out to everyone affected.

To bring a little cheer and color to an otherwise gloomy time, here is my final Go Pink mani.

One of my two Halloween costumes was Jem, from the “truly outrageous” 80s cartoon Jem & the Holograms. I loved Jem as a kid, and still do to this day. I’ve actually been Jem a few times over the years but this year was my favorite. My mom actually made me the pink dress a couple years ago but I hadn’t had a chance to wear it, and then this year we went to the Spirit Halloween store and they actually had an official Jem wig! So I got it, and the inflatable Jem guitar (though Jem didn’t play guitar), and added lots of jewelry, a shimmery red belt, my ruby red slippers, and did my makeup right.

But for my nails, I needed something pink and sparkly and glittery! Jem is all about the “glamour and glitter, fashion and fame”. So I knew I wanted to use my Jem polish from Truly Outrageous collection by NostalgicNail Lacquer.  It’s a clear base with different pink glitters, and matte white hex glitter and white bar glitter. I tried it over several different colors before I settled on Excuse Moi by OPI, another super sparkly pink glittery polish (from the Muppets collection). The result? “Truly Outrageous” glamour and glitter pink gorgeousness!

And now the gorgeousness of them  together:

You can find Nostalgic Nail Lacquer at her store on bigcartel.com, and for updates, her Facebook. She also has polishes for Rio and Pizzazz! OPI can be found at many drugstores, salons and Ulta.

I want to give a HUGE thank you to Andrea over at Finger Painting Fingers for coordinating this amazing event and allowing me to be a part of it. I'm honored to have joined all these awesome bloggers to help bring awareness to a very serious and real disease.

Remember that even though October is ending, the need for early detection of breast cancer isn't. Regardless of what month it is, keep up with monthly self exams, and don't hesitate to see your doctor if you suspect something! Early detection is key to defeating this disease!

Everyone have a safe and happy Halloween!

Hello, my lovelies!

It’s Try It On Tuesday again! For those of you just joining us, TIOT is where we take out a polish we’ve had sitting around but haven’t used and try it on. Be sure to pop by Jilltastic Nail Design, who came up with TIOT, and check out all of the other bloggers participating!

Jem is Truly Outrageous!

Hello, my lovelies!  Today’s manicure is a super special labor of love.

My buddy Jenn over at My Indie Glam Addiction is having an awesome nail art contest and the theme is JEM! Any child of the 80s like myself will know immediately who this is. I can still sing the entire theme song and some of the songs featured in the show. I’ve dressed up as Jem for Halloween at least twice in my life-and one of the costumes is still hanging in my closet ‘cause the last time was just a couple years ago.
