Zoya Thandie and Amy!

Hello, my lovelies!

Summer is most definitely upon us with the heat and humidity! It’s actually my favorite season. I don’t love the humidity but I love the heat, sunshine, and all the beautiful flowers growing in my garden. Cookouts and trips to the park with the dog, friends visiting-love it!

So, I decided to start summer off with gorgeous hot orange polishes from Zoya – Thandie and Amy. Both are from the Summer 2013 Stunning & Irresistible collections.

Usually I’m singing the praises of Zoya formulas but Thandie missed the boat. I had heard from others that the formula on Thandie wasn’t very good, and they were right. It’s a real shame because this color is *gorgeous*, a “warm, citrus orange” that really is more coral. But it got clumpy on the nail, wasn’t smooth at all, and I had to redo my index finger twice before I was happy with it. I ended up using very 3 thin coats, with extra dry time between coats to make it work. A+ for color, D for formula. Poor Thandie. I wanted to love her! Shown here are three coats of Thandie on the index and pinky. All topped with Out The Door.

My accent fingers are Amy. Amy is the perfect shimmery compliment to Thandie, a warm, fiery red-orange, with a heavy gold shimmer. Amy’s formula was flawless, and glided on super smoothly over Thandie. Shown here is one coat of Amy over two coats of Thandie. Amy packs serious shine and shimmer and is a perfect summer polish. All topped with Out The Door.

Zoya can be found zoya.com, and Ulta stores, where they retail $8 ($9 for Pixie Dusts). Be sure to check out their Facebook page, Twitter and Instagram for up to date info and flash sales!

  1. I like these two together. It's too bad about the formula for Thandie. I'm picturing it as the base with Amy as a moon/tip color!

    1. I like that image, Melissa, I may have to try it! I'm thinking a little Seche Restore will help Thandie out.

  3. Bummer on Thandie. Did you try thinner? I have a few 'problem child' colors from Zoya and thinner made a world of difference. But you are right, usually they are perfect from the get go and super easy to use.

    1. I haven't tried thinner but I'm going to put a little Seche Restore in it and see if works its magic. It's such a gorgeous color I hate that the formula was icky!
