Hello, my lovelies!
It’s a scorching hot Friday afternoon in oh, about half of
the US. I hope everyone is staying cool! The Big Fluffy Dog, also known as The
Rare Tropical Husky, wants to go out and sunbathe and sit under the shed. Mommy
(me) says no. So she’s currently snoozing a few feet away, on her back, legs
splayed, back slightly arched. I do know other people with Siberian Huskies
that prefer heat to cold too so she’s not alone, but it’s a small percentage.
She has very poor judgment when it comes to the weather!
So I decided to do some more colorblocking, for Shelley’s Sassy Saturday mani contest! This is only my second attempt, but I used two
polishes that have been waiting their turn: Zoya Arizona and Eddie Mojito
Madness, both from collections this year.
Arizona is a gorgeous orange crème. You know me and orange! Arizona
was part of the Beach and Surf collection this spring. This one truly does make
me think of orange sherbet, with its almost-cloudy finish. It seemed more like
a jelly with its opacity and took 3 coats to be fully opaque. But it went on
smooth as silk, like most Zoya.
Then I added some quarter sections of Essie Mojito Madness.
This isn’t quite a Kelly green, but it is a fairly bright and cheerful green. It
was part of Essie’s summer line featuring Bikini So Teeny. And it went on nice
and smooth too, and needed just one thick coat to be fully opaque.

OMG, I love those colors together. And the blocking looks really cute.
ReplyDeleteFun colour combination! :)
ReplyDeleteCute mani, it reminds of the 60's mod dresses.
ReplyDeleteSuch a cool and refreshing combo, Mal! <3 it!
ReplyDeleteLove it! Did you do that by hand or do you use a template of some kind?
ReplyDelete:) It makes me think of castle flags. (In a good way!)
ReplyDeleteThank you, ladies! Mary, I just used pieces of scotch tape. Me too, Melissa! Alan said it reminded him of the Irish flag, lol!
ReplyDeleteI love that combo! SO cute! I'm going to show my gamer side and tell you that when I play Roller Coaster Tycoon I always do my coasters in orange and green ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lena! I love orange. And I'm a former gamer!
