Kleancolor Chunky Holo Poppy!

Hello, my lovelies!

Today I’m wearing Kleancolor Chunky Holo Poppy. I got this baby for $.01 on Copious! (Have you joined Copious yet? Use my referral link toget $10 in credit when you join!).

This baby arrived on a scorching hot day when I was stalking the postman. I had to let the bottle cool down because it was so hot!

The first thing I noticed about this when I opened it was that it doesn’t stink nearly as much as the blue one I have! Warning: pic heavy!

Poppy has a peachy jelly base, with tiny fine holo red/yellow glitter. By itself, it’s pretty but super sheer. I didn’t realize I had a big smudge until I started editing the pics, and by then, I had already removed it. Oops!

But this, this baby is definitely a layering polish. Since I’m indecisive, as all Libras tend to be, I went with skittles to try this over, to see how it looked over different colors.

First up, on the pinky, we have Sinful Colors Summer Peach – my current neon orange obsession. Over the electric orange, Poppy gives off electric fire! It’s hard to capture on camera, but it’s super sparkly.

Next on the ring finger is Zoya Ivy, described as ‘a reddish-russet shimmer with strong rose and purple undertones and flecks of gold glitter’. It’s a gorgeous copper shimmer, IMO. With a layer of Poppy, it sings with fire! The camera only shows the glitter, but it has serious flash in the light.

For the middle finger, I went with Sinful Colors Ruby Ruby, a bright cherry red crème. This pairing practically rivals Ruby Pumps for sparkle and shine, with an extra dose of fire. (Notice a theme here? ‘Fire’ is the best way to describe Poppy!

On the index finger, we have Spoiled by Wet n Wild’s Are Mermaids Real? This is a gorgeous purple with a golden shimmer. Topped with Poppy woweee! This baby is a stunner! It really brings the purple alive with fire and flash.

And finally, on the thumb, China Glaze Liquid Leather, a pure black crème. This is a Halloween/vampy dream! Yet again, the camera only captures the glitter, and not the amazing beauty as I flex my thumb in the light.

On the right hand, I also tried Poppy over Essie No More Film, a rich, dark blurple crème, but result was almost identical to the black. I also tried it over Essie Risky Business, a fire-y red-orange shimmer and it did add the flash, but nothing super. And I didn’t use Seche Vite, so a number of my nails got wrecked super fast. Oopsie!

So what do you think of Poppy? I think I'm in love with it!

  1. I love Kleancolor polish! I think the Poppy over Ivy is the most fabulous of the bunch, but they all look nice and fiery. Fantastic job, as always. :)

  6. I like it best on the red and black nails. I bet it would also look good on coral/peachy bases and in the middle of red/orange/pink jellly sandwiches.
